I have part and I want to add weld nut into it. I have toolbox in use and I have dragged a nut into part, but I cant find the way to change the nyt size. Is it possible in derived part, or do I need to make assembly?
If you want to configure the toolbox part properly, need to be in assembly
I prefer don't to link all library parts at solidworks toolbox.
You can to use toolbox elements and crash the link and you can to add configurations with the model necesary for you.
I personally would avoid linking a part to a toolbox component. I can't say for sure that anything bad would happen but I find toolbox unreliable. I would just download the model for the exact size you need from somewhere like mcmaster.com and then use that.
I had the same issue. But there is a way how I fixed this issue for my project.
Open an assembly first, dump in the nut style you want for your derived part, chose your size and click OK. Now go back to your part and insert the same nut style there. It automatically uses the last configuration you used in the assembly.
Thanks for that suggestion, worked like a charm for me, and I've found no alternative that works.
excellent observation Benjamin
its such an out of the world solution. cant believe there isn't a way to tackle this issue in SW
