Hey guys and gals,
It's been a while since I've been here. Maybe that means I almost know what I'm doing?
Anyways, sheet metal parts have always liked to give me trouble, and this one has me stumped. A customer of ours has supplied us with .stp files, and they seem to be well made. However, when I try to convert into sheet metal so I can flatten it out, it adds some really crazy relief cuts, especiialy around the profile edges. Some I can fill in and it be alright, but some others aren't so lucky.
I have attached the regular .stp file, and a solidworks file where I've tried to convert it over to sheet metal so you can see the crazy cuts.
Is there a way around this, or some kind of fix? It's really got me scratching my head. Pretty much spent the day trying to figure it out with no results. Seen some other posts on the forums with similar issues, but they found other work arounds that are having no luck here.
Thanks in advance for your help!
