I am teaching Solidworks version 2012-2013. The lessons are ok but I am totally new to this. I do have the teacher packet for lessons but find it is very tough for me and even harder in teaching students. Thank God for STEM ACADEMY! I like it from it getting more experience. I would greatly appreciate any step-by-step PDF tutorials. My students are very visual and I know this would be great. Thanks ahead of time. I truly appreciate it.

One thing I have done for my students is I record all my presentations. I place the links on my faculty webpage. That way if they have problems keeping up or they miss a class, they just go to my webpage and watch the videos. They really like this. it wasn't that hard. One term I just set up my system using Hypercam (which is free) and recorded my lecture as I did my regular class. I then saved the videos and uploaded them to my webpage.

I have had four years of experience in Solidworks. I have taken online classes, weeklong full day classes, and classes at the local community college classes. The best combination has been community college classes supplemented with solidprofessor video classes and lots of practice. My advice to you is to see if you can get a discount for a seat of solidprofessor. Then you can show video a few minutes at the beginning of class and then let the students make parts, assembles and drawings for most of the period.
I also advise you to get solidworks certification yourself if you have not already. Just attempting to pass a certification test is educational. You should teach your students enough to attempt the CSWA. They probably will not pass it but it will give them a benchmark to measure themselves against.
When I was in my classes, traditionally the teacher's monitor was projected onto a screen, and the teacher would go through the lesson once, then the students went over the same steps once.
