In a power ratchet the ratchet head moves back and forth due to an eccentric crank input. I have the parts fully detailed and now want to put a motor on this crank in the motion module and get the proper ratchet engagement/disengagement motion. I've tried this: a) a rack/pinion gear mate for when the pawl is engaged then, b) suppressing that mate and the distance mate that kept the rack (pawl) at the engaged distance, c) then unsuppressing a different distance mate that moved the pawl to where it was just clearing the teeth of the gear for the retract stroke, then back to a). However, I am hoping one of you has a better way as this method is too jumpy for the visualization I am after.
Thanks in advance.
