I have some questions about Solidworks 2014-2015 Student Edition

    Ian Kolb

I recently won the Solidworks 2014-2015 Student Edition from a Solidmodeling Contest and it says on the front Academic Year 2014-2015, what does that all entail? Does it mean that it will only work during the school year, or only for those years?

The 2014-2015 Student Edition is the same release as the Educational 2014-2015 version currently available to schools, and is based on the commercial 2014 version.  About May of this year, the 2015-2016 educational versions will become available, which is based on the commercial 2015 version.

Your Student edition will cease to function 12 months after you register it.  If you install it today, it would be good until 4/9/2016.  The 2014-2015 name just refers to the school year the version was developed for.
