I know how to drag and drop command icons to other toolbars, but as this toolbar is now empty, but active, there isn't anywhere to drop it to - i don't get the green + symbol

Question: The heads-up view toolbar disappears from the graphic area, why?
Answer: The heads-up view toolbar can be customized by right clicking the corresponding top place in the graphic area. Usually if a user rechecks some items from the right mouse button menu, these toolbars can be visible again. To get back the heads-up toolbar default settings quickly, run Regedit, renaming or deleting “HKEY_CURRENT_USER >Software > SolidWorks” key which will reset all SolidWorks settings including heads-up toolbar to default.
Do you have this checked
Yes, that's what i meant by it being "empty, but active".
i tried reset to default, but it didn't repopulate the toolbar.
Right click on on any toolbar and select customize OR Tools > Customize. Then add the required icons/buttons to heads up toolbar..
This toolbar is now empty, but active, there isn't anywhere to drop tools to - i don't get the green + symbol, when i drag tool icons to the area it should be in
It should not be complete empty and there should be minimum one tool icon. Can you add a screen shot.
i don't know what you will be able to tell from a blank space, but here it is. With the "view (heads up)" toolbar checked.
and it's not invisible because the background is white, i checked with a different colour to make sure
Thanks, that sorted it, but it happened again while i was adjusting the toolbars it was removing the "view settings" () drop down icon that caused the heads up to disappear when i removed it, even with other buttons in the heads up. i had to rest twice.
