I would like to place a label on the bottle. The surface is non-cylindrical.
Is it nearly cylindrical? Can you include a picture?
It looks like any regular lotion bottle.
is it an extruded shape? Like an oval? You can wrap onto other shapes besides a cylinder. If not is it close to an extruded shape? A picture - or even better the solidworks model - would really help because the ideal solution is different depending on what the geometry is like.
Won’t be able to share the model due to the confidential reason. But the bottle is basically just an average lotion/shampoo bottle, which is not an extruded body. My goal is to test several different size/shape of labels.
I have talked to my re-seller. And new SPR was filed. I see this as the reverse of “Flatten surface”. If the SolidWorks can add this feature, which will benefit a lot of users in consumer industry.
I would add it as a decal. This works pretty well even if it needs to transition around mild curves.
Not sure I can convert the 2D sketch into a graphic file without any background/border. And it is difficult to make sure the graphic file with the right dimensions, wraps onto the multiple faces.
If your doing in for appearance only then save the sketch as a picture using the screen background color the same as your bottle, the you can easily use the decal features
