Solidworks costing

Question asked by Scott Stoltenberg on Mar 26, 2015

Hi All-

So, I'm using solidworks 2012. I have been testing out the costing feature for our company and have been stuck on a few things that may or may not be available in the version I have.

I have created a part and then created a mold from the part in an assembly. I used the Cavity command to create the mold within the tool that i will need. Then when I proceed back into the tool part to check the solidworks costing it registers only one of the 7 features on the part in machine costing.

So I guess my question is, is there a way i can manually associate features on the mold with machined operations without having to manually assign them through the No Cost assigned folder or am i just going about the whole machine costing process wrong?
