How do I move the entire model's alternative view up to match the example? I just want to offset it. I am spinning the top part and I need to move the entire model up.
Right-click on one of the views and choose Alignment > Align Vertical by Origin. Then select the second view.
You need to create the position change in your alternate configuration. Make sure there are no "fixed" parts - mate your first part into the assembly with three coincident mates between the standard planes instead. You can then accomplish the motion you want by switching (for example) the Top-Top coincident mate to a distance mate, then double click the mate and change the dimension for one of the configurations. So, in one configuration, the distance could be 0.0", and the other could be 1.0" (or whatever you need).
