We need to assign a number of custom cut list properties to our parts. Is there any way to automate this?
Property tab builder is one way definitely (make sure you choose weldment when setting it's template)
Other way could be a macro in case you're looking to do batch update.
The Tab Builder works, but I've added a few of steps to help you along.
As stated, you must build your tabs (see attached, I didn't bother with material).
But before you open Tab Builder you must "expose" the properties you want to add by adding them to the Custom Properties file.
To see the official properties, right-click a cut list and select properties. LENGTH, ANGLE1, etc are what you need to enter into Custom properties.
If you want/need to share property tabs with others, then I suggest you save them (& custom properties text file) to a shared location (& one independent of the SW version, unlike the installed files). With this one location, just set everyone's system options to this (& only this) folder. See 2 attached screen shots.
With the properties in custom properties, they'll now display in the "Name" dropdown under "Custom Property Attributes" in Tab Builder (see screen shot).
Also remember that the weldment tab only displays when a cut list is selected and the data are specific to that cut list.
I hope this helps.
Exactly what I was looking for...Thanks!
