If I understood correctly, you want to type the project number instead of EPDM creating one. If you are working with templates, you can create a template card that has a textbox in which you can type your number, and then link this number to the folder card or the file cards inside the folder you create to create your projects; even you can put this typed number in the filename.
what i mean is also the folders name so when i open my projects map, ill see
Project --- 6672910 customer 1
--- 6676521 customer 2
instead of the fixed number EPDM uses ie
Project --- (date) (day) or something similair i just want to name the folders myself
so when ill be creating a new project it will display me a card which states <enter project number>
<enter client name> <---- these things i figured out allready
Or are we on the same level allready, i may not understand everything correct yet i`m from The Netherlands so my english is pretty good at best
your english is as good as mine (its not my foreing language).
If you work with templates to create a project, you can add variables to the template as much as you need, one of these variables in the template card could be a text which you can type, and then on the template project, in EPDM, you can recall a variable that links the variable from the template card with the variable inside the template project.
As i dont have EPDM installed on this computer, i'm gonna show you some video i made when i was working with a VAR. I think this video could help you to understand some stuff. Sadly its in spanish, but its clear what it shows.
Let me know if this adds some lights to you question,
going in the right direction i will try everything out first thing in the morning, for now thank you ,you will hear from me tommorow !
