no I did not to try to open it in education.
it's defiantly a bug. we haven't reported it yet
Any chance you still have BETA or had saved that file in BETA version?

Call your VAR to get assistance in recovering the corrupted file.
Did you save it in SW professional 2015 and try to open it in SW Eductional version? All I can think of.
