Working on a batch process to create assemblies, and I've noticed some users have the "Hide Known File Extensions" set and some don't which causes some grief when assembling parts to the "empty" assembly.  Is there an option to ignore this setting in SolidWorks?

I've tried reading the registry setting, but this sometimes errs out with "Requested registry access is not allowed."

Any ideas?
