2 pistons with opposite motion

I have an assembly with 2 pistons. I need one piston to oppositely effect the other, so as i press one piston in the other needs to extend out. How would i go about doing this? I was thinking find a way to measure the volume of each cylinder and set them opposite, or measure the distance between 2 planes on each piston and make them opposite..

So as one goes out, the other needs to go in.

This will be used in a larger assembly with multiple sets of pistons.

Any hints or help would be greatly appreciated.
