Govern configurations of a part independtly with the equations manager in a top down assembly

Hello everyone. This is my first post, so please pardon any forum etiquette
ignorance and feel free to educate me.

 

I'm having trouble getting the "Equations - Components" tool to
work like I need it to. I have three different configurations of a part in a
top down assembly that I'm creating. Each configuration represents a different
length of a framing extrusion. I'm trying to govern these lengths independently
with one equation per configuration, but when I rebuild the assembly, it takes
the value calculated in the last equation and applies it to the length of all
three configurations.

 

I have attached an example screen shot below showing 2 equations governing 2 separate
instances of the part which each represent a different configuration.

 

As you can see, the value calculated in the last equation is the one that
was applied to all 8 parts as I mentioned above.

 

At first I thought it might be because the length parameter in one of my

configurations was set to change all of the other configurations, but as far as

I can tell, each one is set to change only it's own configuration. Is there

some sort of trick that I'm missing, or do I need to try an entirely different

approach?
