Hi All, new to the forums.

I've got a problem with the interaction of a mitred welded joint and a bent sheet metal part.

I have a bent sheet metal 'side plate' which has support legs welded to it. I've modelled the support leg as a 'structural member' welded mitred joint so it creates a point at the mitre join. In reality this is welded and dressed thus giving a radius.

When I assemble the leg and side plate in assembly, there becomes an interference due to the bend radius of the sheet and the point or 'tip' of the mitre joint.

Despite 'ignoring interference' in Simulation I can't create a mesh due to this interference.

I'm trying to avoid simplifications in the models as it is a particularly critical area of interest for simulation purposes.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
