hello and thank you for your help,
but when i change sheet size the title block reverts to a default one
instead of my company one.
probably my age lol but it seems simple enough but not working for me.
To start off, you said you're trying to create a new drawing template, but it sounds like you need to create a new sheet format first, and then a new drawing template using this sheet format. See #2 here: Frequently Asked Forum Questions for more information on the difference between the two file types.
To get to your specific issue, open a new drawing with your drawing template that uses a sheet with your title block. Right-click on the sheet tab and choose "Edit sheet format". Do a click and drag box to highlight the notes, lines, etc. in your title block and copy them, as Dan said (Ctrl+C). Now right-click again and choose "Edit sheet" to exit the edit sheet format function.
Next right-click again and choose "Properties". That will take you to your sheet properties dialog box. Choose your A0 size and click Okay to close the dialog box. Now right-click again and choose "Edit sheet format" again. Delete all the existing title block information and paste the stuff you copied over from the other sheet. Position it as you want and make any needed changes. Exit the edit sheet format function. Go to File > Save sheet format and save this sheet format under a new name to the location specified at Tools > Options > System Options > File Locations > Sheet formats. Now go to "Save as > Drawing template" to keep this template using this sheet format for future use.
Please let me know if this helps, or if you have more questions.
excellent stuff, thank you very much
my brain cells eventually came alive
i created the A1 & A2 drawing templates 2 years ago and it was
bugging me now that i needed an A0 sheet, but your
instructions were excellent....
and thank you to everyone else who replied to me too
Open a new A0 sheet. copy the title block from your A1 sheet and move it to the new A0 sheet
