Hello all,
I'm working on a research project at Georgia Tech. Some people in the research group before me (that are now gone) scanned a cardboard cylinder into some type of CAD system. The professor has recently sent me the IGS file to this cylinder. I opened up the file in Solidworks and everything looks good except the cylinder is not aligned with the coordinate system. The imported surface is some type of mesh (it has a lot of irregular shaped sections making it up).
Ultimately I need to export the IGS file as an STL file, then import that STL file into Matlab where I can do some analysis on the data. This part would be no problem if the cylinder was aligned with the coordinate system.
Any suggestions on how to get this cylinder aligned with the x,y,z axis would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Thomas
