Close everything that is open where it is used, then it will not be grayed out any more.

No need to close anything. The configs can be renamed whether they are active or not.

Just select the config, hit F2 key (or slow double-click) and rename.
Ah yes. The double slow click. Have to remember that one when 3MB/rename doesn't work. F2 works too. Huh, Three ways to do it and the two I tried did'nt work. Glad it's Friday.
