I just read that solidworks premium comes with soldworks pdm. Is this a rumor or is that true?
After I asked the question I went into add-in and found it but didn't know if I need to pay extra to actually use it.
It comes with Workgroup PDM, not Enterprise PDM. Workgroup is like a dumbed down version, but it is still very useful and sufficient for a lot of companies.
This was mentioned @SWW2015 on Wednesday in the new for 2016 section. The important thing to note here, is this IS a technology preview. - See this blog about half way down http://blogs.solidworks.com/solidworksblog/2015/02/solidworks-world-whats-new.html#sthash.YCqoJRZl.dpuf
The text: SOLIDWORKS PDM STANDARD comes with SOLIDWORKS
And as for 2015 Jamil Snead is right
Thank you, Richard Bremmer, and Jamil Snead. Sadly it looks like I am going to have to admit my ignorance on workgroup pdm and figure out how to set it up, any pointers would be great, Honestly I didn't even know this came with it, or I would have been using it, I have been using something similar to get the job done.
There's a tutorial included with SolidWorks on setting up and using Workgroup PDM.
It's pretty easy.
