I have top assembly that I want to merge into one solid part for easy managing extruding and cutting to make at the end solid for 3D print.
when saving the assembly as *.sldprt there´s the choice with 3 Options:
I assume your choice was the first one, but the last one schould solve your requirement to manipulate the model, afterwards.
Use Save-As and select type "Part (*.prt,*.sldprt)
I had tried it before, the problem is that I need solid part to manipulate and the solution you offered gives me only surfaces.
I need to merge all parts into one solid, thanks anyway.
As you export, there a setting that defines the detail when exporting as a part. Select "all components". If I recall it may have some problems (or get really slow) if you have very complicated assemblies but I just did a sample and I section of the resultant part file shows that it is solid.
I have tried to save all kinds of types:
x_t, stp, iges......
Try using the Defeature wizard (Tools menu)
thanks it worked
