Has anyone successfully installed the PDM viewer on a server running Windows Server 2012 R2? I get 90% thru the install then is says it's rolling back with no indication of why.
I am having same problem just on Windows Small Business 2011. 2014 worked just fine.
Just a possibility - Is the server running on a 64-bit operating system? SW 2015 requires it.
Yes my server is 64 bit
There should be a log file in %appdata%/solidworks/imlogs, search it for return value 3. you might need to enable full logging first, it's available on the rmb in the title of the installation program.
our I.T dept is trying to install the PDM server software like yourselves.
We receive this error ....
That error is almost the same as the one i got. I had abort retry and cancel as options. I hit retry, nothing, hit abort, and it rolled back installation. unfortunately it uninstalls 2014 first.... Now i have my vault on my local machine until i find a fix
I'm going to try a few things later today to see if I can get it to work...
I will post results..
Maybe you're experiencing SPR 833101: Installation, SOLIDWORKS Workgroup PDM Server: Installation or upgrade of SOLIDWORKS Workgroup Server 2015 SP0 by itself fails with 'Error 1920.Service failed to start'. Which is resolved in 2015 SP1. Or search my.solidworks.com for additional solutions "keyword" 1920.
I am going to download and try this right now. Thanks!
tried installing PDMserver sp2.0 no love. Get same 1920 error, then the next error which i forgot about
The error message:Error 1722 there is a problem with this windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action... etc
anyone had any success on this issue yet..I Have tried latest updates and still no go ?!
I had some odd problems with an install and my VAR suggested I be sure to "run as admin". Sometimes you can right-click the setup.exe or the install manager and select "run as admin". This can help even though you may already have admin rights on your machine.
i tried the run as admin...no luck. My VAR said to manually run all pre-requisites then try. Havent had the motivation to go upstairs....
Just for the record. According to S-064484. You should install the PDM server/viewer via the Installation Manager, not the \pdmwserver\setup.exe.
As I also had this 1920 Error, I did some error research myself.
When I tried to start the exe file behind that service manually, I got a better errormessage, which told me
MISSING mfc110u.dll - so I decided to install both x64 and x86 of Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 from Official Microsoft Download Center .
And the next try of my upgrade (now a fresh install of PDMWorks) turned out to be successful.
Maybe this will help you.
