I get a cyclic redundancy message (software load being cancled). Original install was attempted on bad DVD drive. Attempt to install software on good DVD drive stops at about 40% with this message. Any way to solve this and install the software?

Hi Craig
First of all, what is the message you are getting? pls attach a printscreen of the error.
Second, if the first attempt was with a bad dvd, there may be something wrong with the registry that its not allowing you to get a successful instalation.
so you should first get all the info in your hard drive, so you can avoid issues with the dvd and the dvd reader, then you have to erase all things related to solidworks installation in your computer (I.E. files, folders, solidworks registry entries (BE CAREFUL WITH THIS, IF YOU MESS SOMETHING ON REGISTRY YOU MAY HAVE TO FORMAT YOUR PC, SO BE CAREFUL. I recommend doing a backup of the registry)). after you do this, you can use your solidworks installation information you got in your HDD.
If nothing of this works, then you may get some help from your VAR, and get a new dvd installation files.
Note: you have to do installation with admin account and when you start to install solidworks you have to get the option that says: "install as admin" and have permission to write and read files on your folders.
