    Shell model converge problem

      Hello,

       

      I'm busy with a shell model with the rough size of 1200x150x260mm. When the mesh is getting smaller around a bolt
      fixture, the displacement/strain and stress is going up.
      When i modelled a radius of 10 in this area, i'm having the same problem (see picture).

      Is it safe for me to say that the 20mm mesh gives the most accurate solution ?

      At that moment i thought the displacement and strain where converged (even the stress).

       

      Is there a basic rule for a limit on the refinements on shell models in solidworks ?

          After more refinements i'm convidence that it's converging.

          I think i'm using the global 20mm and refinement 2mm mesh for further studie. Can anyone confirm my approach ?

           

          The largest weld is very dependent on the mesh refinements around the weld. I have some diffuculties to believe this.
