Hi,
I'm trying to create a mold with 2 cavities.
Here are the steps I took:
1. I started from a single body part
2. I made a copy of the body
3. I added the parting line, the shut-off surfaces and the parting surfaces.
4. The TOOLING SPLIT tool refuses to create the core and cavity.
I attached the part (Solidworks 2014)

We design injection moulds. But not with the SW mould design features.
We do our concept on 2D then we start designing the parts in SW.
Anyway, I've attached an assembly showing how we subtract the core and cavity from the part.

Your approach to split the core & cavity with a multi part layout will not work using moldtools alone.It has limitations and can cause problems way ahead.
A mold design is complete only when all the features and parts are completely added (like mold base, ejector system,injection system,mold actions etc...)
I would suggest to split the core/cavity using a single part as done in your previous post (using mold tools).
Then insert the solid bodies to a linked part
Create an assembly, insert these parts there and go from there.(these inserts are linked to your original split)
You will have more control over the assembly layout for multiple cavities, orientation and spacing.
You can add your choice of mold base and other components.

At the moment I'm designing the mold in a multi body part and create the assembly just at the end. I want to see where I will end at.
Afterwards, I will design the mold using an assembly as you suggest.

Then you can use the body Move/Copy feature to create a copy with a rotation point defined.
Then combine the bodies to create a single core block and single cavity block.
If this a real world mold, I would recommend an increasing the draft on the walls to a minimum of 3°. 5° would be much better.

yes, it's a real world mold.
The drafting angle of the walls of the part depends on many factors.
If, for example, there's a situation where the core and the cavity are too close, I use 2 degrees on selected walls, otherwise I use 1 degree.
Sometimes, to keep the part attached to the core during mold opening I use 0 drafting angle on selected walls.

It's not nice that a 9000 Euros CAD doesn't allow me to design a multi cavity mold without recurring to some tricks.
