    Increase assembly performance

    Alex Smith

I had an extremely top heavy (bloated) assembly model, but have since restructured it with subassemblies to make it more nested.  Even with it nested now, the performance (editing, rebuilding, creating, etc.) still takes about the same amount of time.  Has anyone been able to overcome something like this or knows of a utility that can get rid of the bloat?

Does the assembly have configurations & linked display states? Eliminate all if possible ... especially the display states.

Run the Assembly Visualization tool to see which components are taking the most time, and investigate those to see why.

If sub-assys are involved, run the AV on those too.

For parts using excessive time, use the Feature Statistics tool to find the guilty feature.
