I have multiple detail views that I would like to place in front of the parent view. When I place them, they go behind the parent view and are partially hidden.
How do I bring the detail views to the front?
I don't think you can, but someone else may know of a way.
One trick is to show the detail views in shaded mode.
The order of view creation sets the precedence of which view overlays another. i.e. The last view created is in front of all others.
May be a poor example but is this what you want??
I want the detail view to be in front, like you show, but I don't want to see thru it....
I have both views shaded and the parent view shows thru the detail view and partially hides the detail view.
Like in Excel when you can bring an image to the front or send to back.
I know what you need...
A bit of a work around but can be done. The drawing details don't act the same as Microsoft products...
What you need to do is get a really good screen shot, save it in a high dpi (mine is choppy) then paste the picture on top of the view - so the tricky part is to get it right and to stimulate a drawing view - have fun
Yes, this is what I want it to look like, but when I have both views shaded...the parent view still wants to be in front.
Thanks for your help.
A picture will stay on top of the drawing View - Mouse Click inside the view you want it to go, before you paste, then it will move around with the view
Maybe crop the parent view to allow the detail view to overlap?
I was going to suggest the same thing.
That is a little tricky as well - no easy way out for John Putz
To get a high quality picture or screen shot save as a jpg and change the dpi in the options to 1400, then you can edit the picture and paste it in the drawing. Turn your image quality up -
This would also work
You need to do a Broken out section view first than
I have another assembly view off the drawing page and then I could drag the detail over the broken out section - either way it's not an automatic fix
Dumb question but why you want to do that? And why can't you keep them along side the parent view?
Yes there is an option but it's an work around is it ok for you. Make the detail view as a print screen option. and save it aas a image format. Using an insert -> Picture option _> load the image file into drawing file and set the image on top of view which you wanna to place.
I hope this would be help for you.
