Sheet metal configurations not working in drawing sheet

Hi All,

Please help as I am struggling to get my drawing to work,

I have a panel constructed from sheet metal, In this panel there are 3 configurations (blank, fixed front & fixed rear) - these dictate the method of bolting the panel into framework (i). I am wanting to create a parts library and have 1 drawing which reflects the configuration selected in the part however the drawing will only show the default configuration (no holes).

Is there a way to have the drawing views show the configuration of the part?

right click on drawing view >properties and select the configuration

or on the left side menu

  Thankyou for your reply, I am wanting that to be driven by the part though as these standard parts will be for use by unskilled solidworks users and i am trying to take out any user error.
  
  Also that will not work for the flat patterns.

In the drawing property manager select the reference configuration for the view that you want.
you will need to do the same then for any bom list created.

    The drawing is going to be used for laser cutting the flat patterns hence needing all views to reflect the part configuration.

      Hi Richard,
      a work around would be to keep the model you posted as the master model.
      If you go into the cutlist and RMB on each body within the cutlist then insert this into a new part. the new part created will be derived and driven from the master giving your users read rights only and each of the parts will have its own drawing file that will update if the master model is modified.
      more files created but will get you what I think you are after!

        I think I understand where you are coming from however these parts will need to have their sizes altered to suit - i.e. it is only the construction that will stay constant.
