I have a round tube chassis I designed using 3D sketches and weldments. A lot of these weldments are off axis and it would be difficult to try to model sheet metal around/over/between them using the standard base and edge flange Features, especially since they are cylindrical weldments.
What is going to be the easiest route to apply a sheetmetal "skin" to the outside of the tube chassis?
thank You.
Kris
Hi Kris,
I would draw the tube chassis using 3D sketch and weldment profile.
insert this into an assembly, then with placement of planes you can draw in the sheet metal parts in context with the tube frame allowing for future changes.
for the bends/folds I would manipulate the hem feature to get the wrap you need.
Hope fully I have attached an example assy below
