when I convert a solid into sheetmetal, then all the mates with that solid part in assembly are lost.
Can anyone provide me the solution for how to convert solid part into sheetmetal without losing its mates in main assembly ??
Recreate the mates using the planes/axis instead of faces. The moment you convert them , face id changes and mate will dangle.
The other option is to re-fix the mates.
This doesn't help your current situation, but when mating, try to use the ref planes and axes wherever possible and convert to SM before mating into an assy.
When you convert to sheet metal pick the option to keep the original body. Then hide the body and the mates to it will still be intact in the assembly.
Thanks for the information guys.....!!!!
You can do that by an Replace mate entities by Rt.clicking on a part file. Select the missing reference or else see this solidworks 2015 what's new video
