I have a large venturi air cannon model I'm trying to modify for maximum performance and would like to see the air velocity at specific distances.
In the model I've placed a large disc at 40ft. to read the pressure.
Any help is much appreciated.
Add a Velocity surface goal to the disk.
In Component Control - Un-tick the disk so it will not be included in the solution.
Interesting.....! Hope you have already tried adding Goals to surface at far distance to check for Velocity/Pressure - to ensure Convergence in those parameters... (Is combustion involved ? what type of loading's you have provided ?)

In this example I'm applying 150psi to the inlet of the smaller 8" tube.
A smaller version of the air cannon venturi was first developed by myself and Terry Chapman for "Drop Zone" to simulate sky divers falling through the air. Since then I've scaled up the air venture cannon for larger explosion simulations on many shows, using it to knock stunt men to the ground and such.
I've been drooling over Flow for a long time and just recently made the jump, it's turning out great so far!
