Export drw notes as text in Autocad dwg format

    Gregg Sorg

When I create solidworks drawings with various notes in them, then save as an Autocad dwg and bring multiple dwg files into one dwg file, all the notes come in as blocks and change to the same verbiage as the first drawing in had inserted. is there a way to make the solidworks multi line notes export from the solidworks drawing as text entities rather than a block?

Unfortunately, no.  SW uses blocks to control paragraph width and also because special characters like counterbore and countersink have to be included as geometry instead of font characters.

This is similar to the way AutoCAD mechanical handles annotations.

Usually, I'll end up exploding the notes and using the TXT2MTEXT command to convert individual text lines to paragraph text.
