My goal is to color this gridline with the following color:
red: 119
green: 119
blue: 119
I've drawn out the sketch where it needs to be and have been trying to extrude the sketch in a very small amount so that when it is 3D printed it won't make a difference. Is there a way to color the regions of the sketch that color so it does not need to be extruded? When I try to extrude the gridlines, I get issues with the geometry of the sketch unfortunately.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Valerie
Another way besides extruding is to create a split line on the surface, and then the split line can separate areas of different color. However the same problems that prevent you from extruding will also prevent the split line from succeeding.
I was able to achieve what you want by keeping the inner body separate form the out body (uncheck merge result in Boss-Extrude7), then cut one square out .001" deep, and then pattern the cut. At the end you can combine the bodies. The reason I kept the body separate is because my patterns cause a lot of the cut instances to lie outside the boundary of the part and I didn't want to cut the outer body.
I have attached my attempt for you to examine.
