Doing an upgrade from 2013 office pro to 2015 premium at sp2ev and the upgrade is just at 50% after +4 hours? This is a pc with 64 megs of ram and a half empty fast ssd
Anyone had problems and know what the outcome is likely to be in my case!
Well, thanks for the suggestions. It turned out there was another problem, I have had problems with random BSODs and shutdowns and the two are linked. I just discovered that I have two faulty memory boards and the machine has obviously been limping along on the other two! I actually have (had) 32 GB made up from a matched ste of 4 x 8GB boards. Took the two faulty boards out and it all seems happy now so will wait and see if Corasir replace the memory as it is supposed to be under warranty - will wait and see
I hope you have more than 64Mb of Ram. I haven't been able to get by on less than 128Mb since I had a Pentium Pro.
OK, just bugging you.
I just installed SP2.0ev and it took the usual amount of time. Check to make sure your virus scanner is disabled.
Thanks John (although I remember aspiring to own a computer that had that much ram many years ago you have spotted I have the wrong letters!). I have just given up and cancelled the install, I will try again and see if it was a one off. I have tried to turn of norton but who knows if it is or not as it keeps asking to turn it back on every 15 mins.
How are you doing the upgrade? Do you have all the 2015 source files on your hard drive? Did you unistall 2013 first? If I were you, this is what I'd do:
1. Run the 'copy settings wizard' and save the file to my desk top.
2. Completely uninstall 2013. Go here and drop down to the 5th paragraph and follow the instructions to do a clean install. (shameless plug may be involved)
3. Install 2015, referencing your aforementioned saved settings when prompted.
