I have already downloaded the SP1.1 upgrade for 2015 after the installation. What folder path should the files be in order for the installation manager to find them. I do not want to have to download over 0.5GB again if I don't need to.
I usually go to the website, hit the SP version I want and choose the option to download all files.
The plus to this is, if you need to reload a computer, you don't have to to a multi-step installation to bring it up to date. Just install the latest full one and you're all set.
Yes, it's a big download, but the partials aren't small either and I'm letting it go overnight so it's the same difference to me.
Is there a "SETUP.EXE" file in the folder where the update files are? You should run that and it will find them.
ok. I found the way to locate the files and the installation manager let me know that I did not have all the files needed for the install. It said the SP1.1 was a whopping 2.2GB! I only had 497MB.
Oh well.....I have to let the download saga begin. I am going to star this tonight so it happens overnight.
Thanks for your help.
I gave up on the partial service pack upgrades.
I download the whole thing before I go home. That way, I KNOW I have all the files.
Do you use the background download manager?
Thanks allot on that Andy. I will follow suit!
The files are usually under C:\Users\<User name>\Documents\SolidWorks Downloads
I forgot to mention, and wasn't sure if it was implied but you can use these full downloads to upgrade an installation to the next service pack.
For instance, if you're at 2.0, and the latest is 4.0 if you download the entire 4.0 you can do an upgrade over top the 2.0 installation to bring it to 4.0. No need to start over.
