I want to be able to create 36 different camera angle renders of my model (one image for every 10 degrees) starting with the profile view and incrementally moving around the product every 10 degrees until it makes a full 360.
How would I set this up and is it possible for it to automatically render and save an image file for each camera angle?
Would I even need Composer to do this or could it be done with some other add-on?

My approach would be to create a camera view in SW Composer. From there save it to a .smgView file and create 35 copies of that changing the camera orientation 10deg in each. This would then give me a .smgView file that I could apply to any model such that I could create the desired views straightaway.
It is true that SW Composer itself does not have a batch export of the technical illustrations. SW Composer Sync and its sibling, SW Composer Enterprise Sync, does allow for batch export of technical illustrations.

The SolidWorks Motion Study wizard will step you through creating turntable style animations. Then you can save our direct SW views as .jpg or .tif...or have PV360 render each frame.
I also have an interesting SW plug-in (nearly finished) that will produce the images, and all related web content to produce these kind of results:

Those examples you gave are exactly like what I want to achieve.
Do you know of any good tutorials on batch rendering with motion studies? I cant seem to find any.
I guess I will also need PV360 to get the lovely soft rendering like in your game 360 example?

If you are already using Solidworks you can just create camera views in there to render. Just go to view>lights and cameras>create camera view. You can then name the camera whatever you would prefer. You can then schedule your renders in your render tools.
Composer can achieve the same but will not give you photo quality renders as in Solidworks. In composer you would create 36 views and then export your views in the High Resolution workshop. I am fairly certain you can't batch export in Technical Illustration workshop so you would have to use Hi Resolution to batch.
