I would like to move my EPDM icon to the top of my task pane to the right. Anyone know how I can change the order? Thanks.
If you know html&css, you can edit taskpane. Also you can add tab or link etc.
filepath : C:\Program Files\SolidWorks Corp\SolidWorks\data\taskpane\solidworks resources
in this folder, right click to 'swresources' html file and open with notepad or notepad++
notepad++ download link : Notepad++ Home
Thanks Tolga, but I'm not familiar with doing that. I was hoping it was something I could do inside SolidWorks.
That appears to be for the resources menu within the Task Pane, not the Task Pane itself
It is possible to modify the Task Pane using the SolidWorks API (example here: 2013 SolidWorks API Help - Add Buttons to Task Pane (C#)) however there is currently no drag/drop functionality.
SPR 855617 (Let users reorder task pane links (icons)) has been created to request this functionality.
To continue the original question.... Yes, I'd like to REORDER the existing Task Pane icons PDM and Properties to the top of the Task Pane icons....
You answered the question with an example of how to Add an icon to the task pane, but in reading the example, I couldn't figure out where the list of icons that are already in the Task Pane is stored or how to modify that list, which is the real subject of the question. Adding icons is interesting, but not what the question asked.
Granted, I'm not versed in C#, and barely versed in C, so maybe I'm just stupid and it's right in front of me... I'm imagining the data I am looking for is stored in "swTaskPane" But I don't can't figure out where in help editing this struct is described...
This would be a nice feature. I use the copy icon more than I do the move icon. I wish I could change the order in the drop down menu so the copy icon is first.
Just use customize, and put a separate copy icon in your menu. That way you don't have to use the pull downs. I don't even use any of the pull downs any more, I dumped them all in favor of a thinner menu bar, Remember too, that MANY commands are not accessible in the standard pull down menu bar, and you end up rummaging through the menus to get what you need. Believe me, with almost 20 years of SW experience under my belt, and more iterations to the menus than I care to think about. This, I feel is the best for me. YMMV.
Can this be done in 2016, to anyone's knowledge?
