How to automatically generate properties in general table ?

Hi everyone,
I am using Solidworks 2013 SP 5.0. I have a drawing which on one sheet has 7 parts/assemblies shown separately one from each other. I want to have BOM which can show me this 7 parts/assemblies properties in the BOM automatically. Is it possible ?

When I use Bill of materials, it has to be connected to a view or a part so it could be able to show it's properties. But i have this 7 items that are not connected to each other. so i can't connect one BOM to 7 different views.

And if i use general table how can i make it automatized ?

If you want all parts and components shown in one BOM, then make a new assembly and just drop in all the main assemblies or parts then, insert that assembly in your drawing off the paper.

There isn't a way to do this that I'm aware of. BOM's must reference an assembly to populate. It's possible that you could create a macro to populate a general table like you mentioned, but that's probably more trouble than it's worth. I recommend creating a separate assembly to do what you want. You could place the assembly in your drawing and hide all of the components in it if you don't want it displayed. Or, you could place the view outside of the sheet so it doesn't print.

As John said, the simplest solution would be to create an assembly with these parts. By the way, after inserting the drawing view and BOM you can delete the drawing view instead of moving it off the sheet. While you need a drawing view of an assembly to insert a BOM, after it's inserted it's linked to the assembly itself, and not the drawing view. If the assembly is edited the BOM will still update, even if the drawing view it was created from has been deleted.
