I've got a bunch of files that are "Released" per their
lifecycle, and if I RMB and hit "Explain Access" I see that the
files are "Read Only." But, for some reason, any user is still able
to RMB and "Take Ownership" of the file. Granted, they can't
overwrite the file, but why are they still allowed to take
ownership of a file that is "Read Only"?
when a file is ro in vault it cannot be checked in.
however (and this is a BIG however), it can be saved locally.
sw changed the core functionality between 2005 and 2006.
hope you're not just now discovering this.
