hi I have a large assembly and the design tree wont scroll to the top I e the first part I used on the assembly. help please
Can you please attach some screenshot? Maybe it will help to find out what is happening.
Sometimes, when it is not possible to go up or down, changing the width of the Feature manager design tree helps.
hi thanks does this image help
So if you grab the scroll bar it won't move? What happens when you do?
hi it only goes up as far as the mates file
Do you've any other machine where you can test/check this issue?
Have you tried closing and reopening the SOLIDWORKS or restarted the machine itself?
Can you right click on the scroll bar and select e.g. page up/scroll up ?
If you are talking about the vertical Scroll Bar (highlighted in light blue in your image), what happens if you select a component and hit the Home key?
In assemblies, the Rollback Bar only works for patterns. It will not move above the Mates. That's the way it's always been ... as far as I know.
If it did go above the mates line, nothing would be constrained.
The rollback bar was intended to rollback features in a part, not components in an assy.

Note that those links only refer to parts and features, not assemblies & components.
Kelvin that looks like a spot on. After reading your post, I believe user wanted to say about scrolling the Roll back Bar.
Isolate command works good for the purpose of showing only few selected parts in an assembly.
