    Generating geometry from sound

    Charles Fried

      Hi all,

So I'm looking at generating geometry from sound, in this case from the picture of a sound wave.

I'd like to sample the Grayscale value at each point (equal intervals) and assign this value to the height of the point.

So far I can only think of manually sampling each point in Photoshop and creating a excel sheet to import into solidworks.

My question is; how do I format the spreadsheet so Solidworks can understand it and create these points?

Will Solidworks be able to create a surface from these?

I'd also love to hear if you have any other techniques to generate geometry from sound.

      Thanks,

      Charles
