How can I measure the minimum clearance between moving parts in motion analysis?
yeah, its a bit complicated, I think... I want to make sure my machine wont hit anything(a simple wall maybe).
I played my simulation in slo-mo and stopping it everytime clearance seems to be critical then used Checking Static Clearances Between Components
Thanks.
if you are using contact, your motion will simply stop and lock up when they collide if you don't actually care about the actual clearance
Will sensors work?
You can set up a sensor that monitors a particular measurement between components. (I can imagine how this might not work if the geometry is changing significantly, items are passing each other) It it possible to set up more than one sensor.
But to get it to update you probably have to stop the motion and right click on the sensor. I have not actually tried it, just an idea.
I guess not really any improvement over Clearance Verification.
Using "Clearance verification" in "Evaluate" tab (or) else section the components in assemble file using "Measure" command sel 2 edges/points. see the valve in "Normal to selected edges/points".

can you give me an example?
this could be a complicated endeavor if you need to compare the envelopes between 2 parts
