I'm planning to laser cut a series of tubes to create a structure using Weldments/Structural members features and I need to notch/cope its ends

I've seen many people transforming the tube into a metal sheet part then using Extruded Cut feature to cut&notch the ends but It seems wrong and I don't feel safe sending this to my cutter.
My solution was to create some faces normal to the tube then I Face Cut it to perform the notch profile.

I'm here to ask, SolidWorks contains a tool to notch/cope the tube ends? If not, there is any good  approach to this easier than my approach?
