Using one Design Table (Excel file) for Multiple Parts

Dear all,

I want to use 1 excel file (Design Table) to define the dimensionsof more than 1 parts. For example the inner thread of one part musthave the same dimension as the outer thread of the other part.Therefor I want to define (and couple) these values in 1 file.
Can anyone tell me how to this?

This is not possible SW look only in the first sheet of the excelfile.

  You could use a multi body part instead of multiple parts in someinstances.
  
  Also, you can tie parts together on the assembly level where acircle on one part, can drive a circle on the other part. Though, Ithink that can cause some problems.

As a general concept, what you're talking about requires a configurator software: something like Driveworks to generate parts and assemblies based on rules.
Now, in a very specific sense, you can achieve what you're describing by making a smart-component out of the part with the threaded boss where you add the hole as a smart feature.
Or, if you're talking about something project-specific, you might try creating a layout sketch in an assembly, drive it's dimensions from a design table and then create the parts in top-down fashion. That doesn't do a lot for component reuse.
finally, if you want to make your own configurator, you can define the relationships in microsoft Access database tables and link those to your design tables via query

  Use the "Vlookup" funtion within the part design table to reference your "master" design table. Be prepared to let the design table update and drive your part dimensions. Do not allow SW to make changes to your design table, as changes may overwrite your cell formulas. I use a "master" design excel document with several sheets inserted with driving dimension values for various component parts. I then use the "Vlookup" function to reference the appropriate sheet and return the data from the master design table. I use the excel table to develop and drive dimensional values rather than use SW built-in equation editor due to its severely limited capabilites (as compared to pro/e, etc).

    In your part files, INSERT...DESIGN TABLE..FROM FILE and select the one master design table that you want to use. This will work if your parts are similar and "extrude-1" is the same feature for both parts, for example.
    
    I don't know if you're trying to drive parts that have different features or not, but this is an idea.
