Hi, I was previously having some issues with the way my mates reacted in my assembly, I was brining in my sub-assembly which had moving parts into a larger assembly, and then I got hit with hundreds of mate errors when I tried to make the sub-assembly flexible.
My question is whether it would make a difference if I add mates to the sub-assembly while it is in Rigid mode, versus adding mates to it while it is set to Flexible?
When you make the sub assembly flexible, it solves the sub's mates in the final assembly. So since you're bringing it in rigid, mating some, then making it flexible, SW is resolving the sub's mates within the final assembly, and probably overdefining (if I understand your method correct).
If you know you're going to have the sub flexible, I'd set it to flexible as soon as you bring it into the final assembly, before adding any mates.
