Does anyone have recommendations for a laptop/mobile workstation for Solidworks?
Does anyone have recommendations for a laptop/mobile workstation for Solidworks?
Thanks Nathan. Do you have an opinion on HP? I'm leaning in that direction for this item. Looking at an HP Zbook 17G2 Mobile workstation (K4K46UT). We've always purchased Dell desktops but this will be the first laptop we try. I have one HP worksation now and it seems more stable than the Dells.
I agree with Nathan. I have purchased 2 from the Dell Outlet Site and been very impressed with quality, warranty and price. I currently have a Precision M4800 and like it. I did not get that from the outlet because I did not want to wait any longer to possibly get it thru the outlet.
I do not have any experiences with the HP's because I have been very pleased with Dell Precisions.
Like the others, I've had Dells for years and use an M4600 at home. Of all of them have been problem free aside from a BIOS issue on an M90 almost 10 years ago.
I'm also using a SurfacePro 3 for work travel and really like it. Excellent performance and zero issues a month into it. Very lightweight and easier to use on planes than a full-sized laptop.
I reviewed an HPZbook, indirectly, earlier this year if you care to check it out. NVIDIA's K5100M Graphics Running On HP's ZBook 17 - Jeff's Tool Shed - Jeff's Tool Shed
I have had really good performance and stability with my Dell M6600 - and I have always bought from the Dell refurb site. You can save a good amount of money and you get Dell's warranty. I have always purchased the extra, on-site repair coverage and I have used it a few times. (maybe because he machines were refurbished...?)
I have had a poor experience with a Lenovo workstation (laptop)
I am sure others out there have had the exact opposite experience...
