After unfolding and refolding a part (to add holes) the flat pattern is now cooked (in the image you can see the Right Plane for reference). Why is this and how can it be fixed? If I supress the unfold, cut and fold features the flat pattern is straight and parallel to the planes.
When you unfold, have you tried a different face before collecting all bends ?
Yes, no difference unfortunately...!
Try picking a different face to serve as neutral when you refold the part.
Tried this with a number of faces and no difference unfortunately.
One suggestion:
You can make a new view for your flat pattern and use that in your drawing.
Hit space bar to get the Orientation
1. Select face
2. Select normal to
3. new view
4. name it
Good solution. This should do just fine as I only need the flat pattern for drawing purposes. Thank you!
If anyone is still hunting a different solution, I found editing the flat pattern feature and selecting an edge for grain direction that is parallel to the desired bounding box direction fixed my crooked bounding box.
