Why? It used to work before SP 5.0
This should be fixed now. Please let me know if you encounter any other problems with connectivity to the web help.
Try removing the ?rid=145504 and check again. Please do report about this issue.
2014 SOLIDWORKS Help - Curve Driven Pattern PropertyManager
I do not understand what is to be removed
Cliff/Peter sorry for the confusion. If you look at the link (posted in your picture) them you can the rid=145504 at the end of the link which I was suggesting to remove.
The line of text in that URL address is not editable.
Secondly, if I need help and do not happen to be connected to the internet, then what? (this isn't my current issue)
Then you can use the offline line help. Please uncheck "Use SolidWorks web help" under help menu.
If you need help and are not connected to the internet, simply go to the Help menu and turn off the "Use SOLIDWORKS Web Help" option. If you have that turned on and don't have internet access, when you call for help, it will automatically detect that and offer to switch to the local help for you.
I hope this helps,
What Deepak meant was to take that URL, remove that last portion and put it into a web browser (instead of the help viewer window that pops up with SOLIDWORKS). Unfortunately, even this won't work
The original path it is trying to go to is:
(note that the rid is an ID# that maps to a specific help topic). The result would be the following:
But the actual correct path is the following (with an extra "/sldworks" in the path):
So, something is happening on the server so it is not creating the correct path. All of the content is actually there so as a workaround, you can search or browse for it until we have it corrected. Again, we are looking into it and hope to have it fixed soon.
As Cliff, I don't understand the ?rid=145504 reference.
And as Cliff, I have the same thing happening with about any and all help files since installing SW14 SP5.
thanks in advance to anyone shedding a light on the issue.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. There appears to be something incorrectly set for the latest deployment of our web help for SOLIDWORKS 2014 SP05. Linking from the software is not always working properly as you have found. I have tested SOLIDWORKS 2013 and 2015 and it is working OK for those versions. We hope to have it corrected very shortly and I will post and update once it is.
Thank you for informing us that the problem is not on our end and that a solution is in the making.
Always nice to get a heads up.
Have a nice one
Works for me, thanks!
