I just read through the 2015 what's new document: SolidWorks now forces 3rd party Add-ins to show under the Tool menu item. Adding new menu items is no longer allowed. I have to say that this change is very annoying. I now have an additional click to get to my tools and they are 'buried' under a menu where they are easily forgotten.
Why SolidWorks, why!?
The plot thickens!
I updated my solidworks related references in visual studio and restarted my add-in. It still doesn't work right but now I somehow managed to change the name of the tab in the command manager. I manually added the missing buttons to the toolbar before the new name showed up
What the heck is going on!? Where is SWX getting this erroneous tab name from?
Can someone from SolidWorks please chime in? Anyone?
I emailed SWX API support and got the following reply:
We are aware of this issue, this is not an API or code related issue but a regression in Core SolidWorks UI.
SPR 833079 - Wrong title in the Command Manager Tab with SW2015.
This issue has been fixed and the fix is available in SW 2015 SP01, so please install SP01.
I hope this helps."
So problem solved (I hope). I haven't had a chance to download the latest service pack yet
