I have an input of Corrosion Allowance as 1mm for pressure vessel and performing Fatigue to determine life cycle of product, how to include corrosion of 1 mm into fatigue....
i don't think that is enough information but i'm not a corrosion expert.
what i can tell you is there is nothing in the software to account for it. the closest thing is what i mentioned which is that you could "weaken" the material to account for corrosion.
Corrosion allowance is intended to reflect loss of shell material after years of service. You just reduce the design shell thickness by 1mm. No calculation required.
maybe you can calculate manually.
Fatigue strength reduction factor
• Loading mode (K_m)
• Frequency (K_freq)
• Size Factor (K_1)
• Temperature (K_t)
• Reliability (K_r)
• Notch Effects (K_n)
• Fretting (K_fret)
I think size factor , loading mode are added by program. you should duplicate result stress with K_c.
Can you please explain how to obtain these values/do calculations for each parameters ??
